"Science is the topography of ignorance. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., Medical Essays, 1883"
I'm yet not a PhD candidate but gonna b one soon. Being postgraduate student I'd learned to be indipendent. Seek for the information and explaination by myself. Less supervision is a common. My research findings...herm..
"The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds the most discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I found it!) but "That's funny..." ~Isaac Asimov"
That's make sense coz i did happen to me not once but most of d time.
Being with PhD candidate(s) from different part of the world taught me lot of things....enthusiastic, passionate, keen, erudite and never the less, don't care & don't bother attitude.
As far as I concern,
PhD is about:
none the less the SUPERVISOR(s)....
This entry can be considered as a reminder for me as well, when ever I have to deal with DON'T BOTHER DON'T CARE attitude among minority of PhD candidate which describe....below
"I am compelled to fear that science will be used to promote the power of dominant groups rather than to make men happy. ~Bertrand Russell, Icarus, or the Future of Science, 1925"
Perhaps this DBDC PhD candidate may not serve as scientist or at least as an academician...

REMINDER : DO NOT TARNISH PhD status by including 'oneself ' into this DBDC group...
